Flagstaff Medical Center
Our Five-Phase master plan at Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) began in 1984, and will continue for several more years.
The FMC campus consisted of a twenty year-old, 4-story hospital building surrounded by old homes converted to hospital uses. Our early programming and master planning indicated the need for more landmass, significant inpatient and outpatient growth, and a gradual replacement of outmoded buildings. Subsequent periodic updates to our program and plan have incrementally identified facility needs to meet changing conditions unforeseeable in 1984, such as a parking structure, an enclosed skywalk over a city street, a greater outpatient market, etc.
Recent and current projects for FMC consist of: ambulatory surgery, new hospital entry/lobby, outpatient services addition, central plant expansions, 3-story women’s center, 400-car parking facility, 4-story acute care patient tower, skywalk over city street, 3-story surgical tower, and major site reconfiguration.
Renovations include: imaging, emergency, ICU, med/surg, pediatrics ICU, inpatient behaviorial health, lab, pharmacy, dietary, administration, cardiac cath, dialysis, and all other ancilliary support departments.
