North Scottsdale Ambulatory Surgery Center
The NSASC consists of two “Class B” operating rooms with four pre-operative and seven post-operative beds.
The floor plan was developed with a focus on efficient patient flow. Design features include a centralized nurse station to service both pre- and post-op areas, and a separate staff entrance.
The biggest challenges the team faced and overcame were derived from the need to modify the existing shell construction to accommodate an Ambulatory Surgery Center. The roof structure had to be modified to hold large air handling equipment and to attain a higher fire-rating level. Also, an emergency generator had to be located on the site.
It took cooperation from the developer, shell building architect, shell contractor, owner, tenant improvement contractor, and us to prepare the building for its role as an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
