Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center
The Virginia G Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare North Campus is a freestanding hospital-based comprehensive cancer care and research facility developed around the concept of providing patient and family centered care in an easily accessed multi-disciplinary setting. To support research activities through the Arizona Cancer Center, The Piper Cancer Center also includes research laboratory space in a building linked directly to the treatment building by an enclosed bridge.
The program includes diagnostic and treatment components, as well as support amenities for the patients and their families as they deal with the impact of disease and treatment on their lives. Major program elements are radiation therapy, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant therapy, lymphedema treatment and other supportive therapies, as well as genetic assessment and risk counseling. Private practice oncology specialties are housed on the upper floors. The center contains its own specialized satellite pharmacy, medical reference library, and clinical laboratory services.
In addition to research laboratory functions, the research building also conducts a clinical trials program.
